The almost 5-year-old EP 'Delays' has been one of the most important milestones of Grema’s producer journey. His label, Paeoni Music started off with the three tracker, instantly turning heads in the segment of the national underground scene tuned for dub- and Detroit techno. The record, and especially the title track has been received very well by techno and house heads of all kinds and still gets regular spins to this day. Grema, following his successful debut, has stayed active but rather focused his energies on building his studio, mixing and mastering gigs rather than nurturing releases.
After long preparations he made progress in this regard too and following his spring EP ‘The Ampex Archives’, now he’s back with a special series, titled ‘Delays Remixed’. Upon a call from Paeoni Music’s founder, three dozen reinterpretations of the track were created, presenting us a sneak peek into the various corners of Hungarian underground techno and house. In Grema’s view, besides being the most ambitious project of the label to date, the monstrous parade is in fact an experiment of giving insight into the local underground’s creative force. This is done by offering the listener the broadest possible perspective, independent of the views propagated by contemporary thought leaders and various media outlets.

The first portion turned out to be incredibly potent. Building blocks of broken techno, junglist flair, and space technology all mix as daring solutions of the artists fuse into brutally bass-heavy tracks. DirekTorz and the shamanistic hypnosis of closely related Bios introduces strong magical-tribal vibes, not to mention S Olbricht’s sparkling break that also makes it hard not to envision fires and a big totem pole on the middle of the floor. Add some sci-fi tones, lots of air, and a heavenly float that suddenly turns into an insane dive, and you're already at the heart of ICR’s wonderful vision. VRKO’s futuristic deeptechno flight pumps blood towards the brain and heart in a way that’s downright addictive – one can only hope this mesmerizing force brings success for the creator.
